Pasta With A Twist!

Posted on April 18 2014

Ever seen black pasta before? Well this isn’t just any black pasta, this is black pasta with squid ink! What?! Squid ink?! No way! Sounds weird right? But squid ink is actually well known in the culinary world. It is used in many things such as: pastas, sauces, and can also be used as a food coloring. This squid ink pasta is not only unique with it’s color but also its shape and flavor! It gets its deep black color naturally from a genuine squid ink that tints the noodles a deep black and tinges them with a sea-salt tang. Filotea makes this pasta using a blend of 00 flour, durum wheat semolina and fresh, free range eggs. This pasta is dried at a low temperature and goes through a longer process then most dried pastas. This pasta is promised to have an amazing flavor, more tender, fluffier texture, and quicker cooking
