Lavender Season!

The season for lavender is here! The beautiful scent of Lavender is one of the many scents that is always highlighting Summer, but Lavender is far more versatile than just being a beautiful scent or a pretty flower. Lavender has many culinary uses, it can be used in salads, cakes, breads, seafoods, meats, desserts such as ice cream, sorbet, and makes a great tea for relaxation. Many mixologist use Lavender stems to put in their drinks to use as a decoration, something to stir your drink with, or even to flavor the drink itself. There are many cocktails and liquers that lavender pairs great with. Lavender makes an amazing pair with many different fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, cherries, damsons, mulberries, plums, strawberries, and rhubarb. Lavender also has many medical uses as well. For example, Lavender can be used to treat restlessness, insomnia, nervousness, depression, loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, flatulence, and upset stomach. Some people use Lavender to treat headaches, toothaches, and joint pains. It can make a great repellent against mosquitoes, protects against hair lost and can be very therapeutic when applied to a hot bath to promote mental well being!
