Since the weather is getting warmer, let’s talk about something spicy. Angel Hair Chili or in French Cheveux D’Ange is a finely thin chili made from dry red pepper that comes from China, looks almost identical to saffron. The color is more of a fiery red instead of that yellowish orange hue. They have a mild, smoky flavor with subtle heat. Traditionally used in kimchee, but can be used on just about everything, soups, salads, hors doeuvres, or anything that can use a burst of chili flavor. The threads are very flexible, and can be lightly toasted in a dry skillet to bring out a deeper flavor. These threads can also make a lovely garnish. Spice up your life a little and try something new!
